Buddy of mine and I stopped at a couple pawnshops today too see if we could find any deals. First one we went into a had Silver Eagles for $22 apiece. Silver bullion for $20 apiece and then these coins marked pewter $15 each. I asked if I could see one and I couldn’t read the Hallmark on the side but I thought for sure it was probably Sterling. I flicked one with my nail and it made the sound of silver. So....I bought all 5. Spent $75 on 5 coins with sterling Swedish hallmarks. 1.8 Troy oz each. Or 8.9 oz of silver for $75! Made my day! All 1973 Nobel peace prize winners.

Let’s see the hallmarks. Looks good though. You need to go to that shop often!

They're made by a company called Sporrong. They did medals for a few years of the Nobel Prize winners. For 1973, a full set had six medals so you're missing one. They came in gold and bronze as well. I'm pretty sure they didn't do a pewter version so yours has to be silver. Originally it would have come with a box and a certificate of authenticity.

Pewter doesn't ring so if these do they aren't pewter. Pewter just clanks.

Someone finally got over on a Pawn shop, love it!

Haha, I’ve been trying this shop for awhile. No luck. It’s very small though.

There is one next door i always get good deals at. They acid tested it and laughed that they were silver.
