As I leave a local thrift store with my find of the day, I thought of a great idea for a thread. What is the most unusual thing you ever bought at a thrift store or yard sale? And did you buy it to keep or resell ? If you bought it to resell, how did you do with it ?

LMAO. I am guessing I will be able to buy "your ex wife's leg that you won in the divorce after she got the chevelle" on eBay in the near future? Just a suggestion to get the creative juices flowing...

You left me the easy one...

Did you really buy this or are you pulling our legs?

My weirdest find in a thrift store would have to be an antique camel saddle which I've found not once but on two separate occasions at different stores. Apparently the camel saddle market is thriving in the DC-Baltimore region.

Did you go out on a limb to purchase it?:laughing7:

Well... at least he still has a leg to stand on if he did. :tongue3:

Nothing weird for me unless you count a mouse encased in lucite.

Hey,
They encased that fella in my backyard. How in the heck does a rat filled plastic box end up in the Florida area? Bet there's a back story there too!

I think it would be funny to take a pair of lingerie thongs and act like I pull it out of one of the items at the garage/estate sale I attend. While holding it up in the air saying, “how much?” :)))))

I think I relayed this before in a previous post but I was at an estate sale and there was a vintage Snoopy ceramic item. It was quite heavy and it had a date stamp from I think 1960s. I thought it was a bank but it had no slot. I asked how much and he wouldn’t give me a price and then he took it from me and realized it was heavy then tried to open the bottom. All of a sudden POOF and dog ashes went everywhere and all over him. Needless to say I passed.

That mouse is awesome, my daughter collects bugs in acrylic, she has a bunch, centipedes, scorpions, beetles, even a cockroach. Whenever I find them I get them for her.

That must have been at a half price sale. Instead of charging an arm and a leg, they only got the leg.

I bought an oxygen concentration unit from an estate - basically brand new and it puts out 99% o2 all day for a fraction of the cost of tanks. I use in place of tanks on my torch.
