I just got this at the TS. It's a little cloisonne enamel salt celler with a glass bowl insert. I'm unfamiliar with these marks on the silver. It was only $2.99 and I thought it looked kinda special. It's really gonna look good once I get the silver all shiny again. I'm wondering if this looks anything like Russian to any of you or maybe you're familiar with these marks?

If that's silver, and it sure looks like it, there has to be some other marks on it. I can't find anything like those. Nice find!

I found a similar piece on eBay and it says it's Russian, but it ain't silver. That alphanumeric code is some kind of alloy silver look a like mix. I might get as much as much 30 bucks out of it.

Even so, turning $3 into $30 is almost as good as the markup Apple gets on their Iphones!

I wasn't 100% sure it was made of silver or that old. You'll see some limited info searching the words iommet enamel which is a maker or factory. The one source on eBay said the other mark is for an alloy, but other say it's plated. Other info leads me to think it was made in the soviet-era of the early 1960s.

Found an almost identical one. The Soviets liked to put retail prices marked on objects. “Price 2 Roubles 90 Kopeks” like saying Price:2 dollars and 90 cents, etc... I think it’s pot metal, pewter or zinc alloy.

It's made of melchior-

In metallurgy, melchior is an alloy of copper, mainly with nickel (5–30%).

-I have some Russian commemorative Sputnik podstakanniks with the same marks.
Thank! That stuff sure oxidizes almost like silver does, other than it has more pale look to it then pure silver.
