A have not had much luck finding gold, but someone left a tip on one of these forums about looking for corporate emblems. That tip paid off a little the other day when I dropped by a local thrift and found it packed with professional pickers. I almost left when I found this jewelry box. I am always in the market for a good box. The ATT emblem on it made me think it was a presentation piece and looked either gold or gold filled. I got it for $7, took it home, popped it off, and sure enough, 10K gold (about 1.6gms). Not a huge payday, but another thing to look out for.

Yeah cheap thrift store gold in some areas is getting real hard to come by it seems. Good eye on that piece.

Good score, I just did the same thing on a Union Pacific railroad desk pen holder.
