Most Fun in a Long Time.....And a Kicker I'll Never Forget!!!!!!

Ty and I started the day off deciding excactly where to go...CW or old house site's?This new place had some Bowhunter's keeping us from checking it out,let them be out of respect.We ended up at a property that Ty had aquired through some us his daily work......CW was far from our mind,but in this area it wasn't out of the question either.Immediately,no more than two min.'s into the hunt I popped out my first "dug" Buff......1935-S,from then on I figured it was going to be a good day......


10 wheatie's later and a couple 50's Jefferson's made it even better.....1910,1934,1939,2x-1940,3x-1944,2x-1945...Jeff's were a 54-D and a 58-D.....



The little trinket's were plentiful as well.......

After Ty started finding 3-ringer's we were stating to question this place,primary structure was built in 1920 but it evidently had had some more earlier resident's than this.........

Doesn't get much better than this to end the day.......

Those are some neat finds...I know you like the beltplate...but those little charms are cool!

Ok, that's it. I can't take you guys finding all those neat CW finds and I am finding nothing. You have to take me along or I am visiting a gyspy and putting a curse on all of you. Just kidding, I still owe her from the last curse. That is a nice box plate. Now go back and get the belt plate and breast plate.

I tell you what, brother. That place surprised me in every
way!!! And to think, we only covered about 1 1/2 of the 6
acres.
When you pulled that plate out at 3 inches, I couldn't
believe my eyes! Great hunt, and thanks for the fun time!!!

I bust my butt in the woods where there was CW activity and don't find a belt plate, and you score one in a yard where there wasn't CW activity!!! It's just not fair.

humm with the bult buckle there maybe a small (unrecorded) skirmish happened -- we had lots of small skirmishes around my area that aren't well recorded --happily I got a book that is well noted about these local "mini battles. (the confederate history of florida and texas --vol 11 of a 13 vol set -- a area commander of NE florida was the man who wrote the account for florida --col. JJ dickerson AKA "the swampfox"--he gives fine detail of many of these small fights --where scouting parties bumped intop one another or raids occured.

after the war many men used civil war weapons and equiptment as well --but with a mix of bullets and a buckle * think you might have found a skirmish site or old picket post type area., -- great finds -- good work.

That US plate.....is that a "box plate" or a "belt plate"? I would think the former. A plate they would nail to a box not wear as a buckle....true? Either way it's a cool find.
