Burnside Mountian Day Four!!

Ok.. went back up fora few hours... started hunting lower then the area I found the Burnsides.. a sticker patch that is just thick as all get out!!!

Found some 3 ringers.. one pulled .69 3 ringer.. and best of all.. a .69 round ball that was pounded into a 6 sided cube.. looks like some one was making a die!!! Too cool!!!

Sad to say.. since this was a small strip of woods off a small skrimish.. and I have hit it hard with the 12".. the finds are going to become less and less....I really need to run a bobcat through there and push out all the stickers... the vast majority of the find I have had were under or around massive sticker bushes.. where the previous hunters didn't hit hard enough... but I'm happy with what I dug from another "dug out" site.. ;-)

If those sticker bushes are still active during the growing season, get some Ortho brush killer and spray the HE** out of the leafy parts, then next year about the same time you can go in there, beat 'em down and they won't return. This stuff is a systemic brush killer, it kills down to the roots through the leaves. Been there, done that........NGE
