Hit a little construction project at a favorite park. They took off about 6" of soil in a few small areas for a new project. I turned on my machine, let it settle for a second, then started to swing. Thought it was falsing, b/c the first swing produced a perfect silver tone basically on the surface. Figured out it wasn't falsing, and popped a 1900 Barber dime at 1" maybe. It was a disapointing discovery, b/c I saw the "one dime" back, and thought I finally hit a seated. Wrong Again!!!! After a small handful of wheats and a Buffalo nickel, I found a cool pendant/medallion. I tend to underclean, so it can get much better. It says "World's Columbian Exposition 1893" on one side and has "Christobal Colon" on the other side. Anyone found one like it?
It has been a little hard going back to finding small treasures after popping my massive gold/diamond ring this week. I hope to adjust.

Jon, the ring you found the other day is awesome, congrats! That Columbian Expo pendant is a souvenir from the 1893 World's Fair that was held in Chicago. The theme of the Fair that year was the 400th anniversary of Columbus' discovery of the new world, which we all know was actually discovered approximately 15,000 years earlier by those nomads who followed game across the Bering Strait. :) Rob
