Colonial Jetton, Flying Eagle, 1800's Silver, Cast Button, Eagle "I" Button

Take your pick!!! I got something in almost every category today.
Hunting the 1760's house that Joe and I got all of our colonial large
coppers from. The ground was alive!
I know that this a Jetton (it says it), but other than that, I can't
identify it.



This Eagle "I" button has skinny wings with round feather(?).
The backmark is "Superior Quality".



1858 Flying Eagle (my first) and 1879 Indian.



My first cast button with a backmark "Rich Gold Colour".



1800's Canadian Dime with "Mon Etoilet" or "Mon Etoile" etched on reverse.



I had a GREAT time!!! And, YES, I am going back!!!

Hey Ty, that jetton is awesome! Looks to be of German decent, the word "Sieg"=Victory, "Und"=And, I can not see the other word. Any help on the last word? They also used the old style "I" for a "J". I will look around but I think it is made in America by Germans, LOL, really. Congrats on all the great finds and hunt!!! HH, Mike

da der jeton or "counting token" looks to be of german origins or made by germans in america -- due to the "language" used on it --german ya ya ommp pa pa .

Very nice finds! I found a flying eagle last year, and it looked like it was in great shape until I rinsed the dirt off. The detail in the patina flaked right off with the dirt. I'm glad to see that yours has remained intact.

This brass jeton is generally listed as German or at least Continental in origin and attributed as c. 1815. The illegible word on the obverse is Lohn. Sieg und Lohn means something like "Victory and Reward." Here's a similar example valued at €20, or about $27:

That is a beauty of a flying eagle and great other finds. I want a flying eagle and was one year away from it the other day. Looks like that site will produce some more for you. WTG!
