They look like ladies dress or scarf pins, Cloisonne is a process of adding a ceramic like paint and then baking it on at temps over 1200 degrees. Just my thoughts. Mace

The one in the picture is 3 1/4 inches long. Not hair clasps.

Hi Roger,
Those are called bar pins and they were commonly worn in the late 1800's by the ladies. The rough cut stones are old rose cut diamonds or quartz "brilliants"... here's a store on Tias that has them, I'm not associated in any way with them. Nice find !!http://pages.glamournglitz.com/7228/PictPage/3923196068.html

Very cool find...wonder why there were so many (and more) in one place...stolen loot? Hope they are worth some bucks for you...
In the 1800's, the Victorian Period, stud earrings, bar pins, black jewelry, pearl and diamond jewelry were in fashion. During this time, the costume jewelry business also began to flourish. Mourning jewelry (black jewelry created from jet) became popular.

Thanks Gypsy Heart. They are in poor condition but nice to look at. Would a group of people have sat there and each took them off and left them as some kind of offering. Maybe Nuns or Nurses?

Nuns LOL. ;D Was an old store on the location? Maybe someone was selling them and had a box full.

I dont think so...I am thinking if its not in a store location like Big Cy suggested ,then it was a jewelry pin salesman who got waylaid ::),murdered and then the robbers buried the loot in order to come back later and get it...but they got caught and never revealed the location...I am sure there is more stuff there if you dig deeper. Can't wait to see what else you find.

They were found on the side hill next to Saint Marys Hospital in the city park.

from the color of the pins, might i suggest that a store burned down...
