Went out and hit the yard again yesterday and came up with a chain and hook, another 12 ga. shotgun brass, an old buckle (probably for an animal/livestock), some sort of cutting farm implement and a tailfin ornament. I think tailfin ornament because it looks very familiar. I'm thinking 50s vintage ford but if anyone can positively ID it, give me a reply. I'm kind of curious.

Spotz, you nailed it! That's what it is. Now . . . any idea what year and model? I'm still thinking Ford - mid 50s.

Keep hitting that backyard, Bob!

You never know what might just pop up.

I've been digging our yard for the past few years and before me several others covered this area many times.

Last Spring I found a cache of 1800's tokens (worth $300) buried with silver spoons about 6 feet from my garage at a depth of about 7 to 15 inches. I had hunted that spot at least a dozen times and never even got a signal!

Metal detectors are not nearly as reliable as we think.

Good hunting ;)
