Phew back from a one week trip to Whidbey Island with my family and detected every day but 1. I need a break from metal detecting for a few days haha, but boy was it worth it. My brother and I detected several sites while we were there including; an 1890s school, a 1930s school, fairgounds from the 1930s, and an old ballfield. Unfortunately there were no silver coins found detecting(though my brother found a nice 1964-D dime in the coinstar while we were at the store). The silver ring was found at the ballfield near the end of the trip ending our silver drought. We found 11 wheaties scattered among the locations and the years on them are; 1911, 1944-s, 1945-s x3, 1946-s, 1948-D, 1953-s, 1955-D, 1956, and 1956-D. My brother also found a 1901 Indian Head Penny in someones yard which was likely our best coin find of the trip, and our oldest this year. Our total coin count was 332 pennies, 33 nickels, 100 dimes, and 47 quarters. Other notable finds amongst the odds and ends were a button with an anchor on it, does anyone know what it goes to? A washington state tax token, 2 tokens from the fairgrounds(1 says the dozer, the other has a horshore and a star on it), 4 cars, some lead soldiers, an old lock, bullet casings, keys, fishing weights, and other junk. I also found our neighbors missing silver ring for them. I don't know if that counts for a find? but it still felt good to return to them what they lost. No doubt it was one of our best detecting trips ever and hopefully next time we will find some more older coins. Enjoy the week of hunting everyone, and washingtonians keep cool in this weather!

WTG, that is a good weeks haul for sure. At least you did get one silver in the change machine. I think more and more people are cashing in their coin collections, what a shame.
