Sometime ago I asked if Shaun7 would help with this field. Dad & I have done very little of it & we hope to track down any hotspots, but being so large its hard work.

Spent most of the day with lots of good signs but no outstanding finds.

Pleased with the Eagle Button - Military? Looks late Victorian - will research later
Large Lead Medieval Trade Weight, never seen one with a piece of iron sticking out...
Medieval Couldron Foot
3 Lead Tokens
2 Scrappies
Lead Bag Seals
Scrap Silver
Kept the U shaped thing that goes with BB's Whatsit post

Dad's back, so I will pop out soon on a new field we have been waiting for :icon_thumright:

The button with the Napoleonic style eagle appears similar to a French "Household Corps" officer's button, c. 1850's-70's.

It looked like a hammered before I picked it up, its got a flower design & blank on the back, it used to be domed & has been flatten.

The backmark is:
SMITH & WRIGHT Ltd
B.HAM

I can only find this maker starting in Birmigham after 1881 (Good news they are Military Button makers) :icon_thumright:
