This gave me a solid quarter signal. It seems to have a zinc-like center and a plating of what might be brass. It's pretty heavy. There is an area where the center is visable, some was broken off, maybe there was a loop for a chain so it could be worn around the neck. I'm thinking it's just a piece of heavy junk jewelry. Look farmiliar to anyone?

It has the design, both front and back of a 'cob' coin; 'piece of eight', perhaps.
More specifically, the design of the reverse (top two images) has a cross with globes or spheres at the end of each bar which indicates Mexico. Within the cross quadrants are 'castles' and 'lions'. The obverse (third pic--upside down) depicts a Hapsburg shied.

I don't think it's real, it has a gray colored center with a brass or gold colored skin.

It sure looks like one.But something about it's corrosion don't seem right. The one I found was in salt water and still other then some black tarnish was silver. The one you have looks like if you took the corrossion off you would be subject to lose features.Hard to say from photos though.Mabe's not and mabe's it is.
Good Find,
Timekiller!

Welcome to T-net It looks like you found some sort of Chinese costume jewelry by the looks of it.
