Guys and gals I am on cloud nine right now. I don't think I have ever had a more enjoyable 2 hour hunt in my life. Where do I begin. I started back to where I pulled the silver coins from the other day. When I arrived I started getting awesome High readings on My F75. Stuff started flying out of the ground. :hello2: :headbang: I dug my First Indian Head penny tonight. I have it soaking trying to see the last two digits. It is a 19== something. Can't make out the last 2 numbers. I will be able to soon. I am going to work on it, see if I can clean it up. I found this awesome Military button. I am still trying to Id it. Civil war era 3 ringer, some other Lead civil war era things. If any of you guys know what it is chime up. I am reasearching all night to try and find out what I found. Without further delay here are the pics hope you enjoy.

You have a tent rope tightener in the photo too. (The big brass item.) That could very easily be of CW age.

Good stuff.

The Button is a Great Seal Button Correct. Yeah I found the Tent Rope Tightner first and said..Hummn. This may get interesting. Then all of a sudden target after target. Only reason I went home is because it became dark. Gonna have to go back.

Hey hold on a minute. My button has a backmark of
SCOVILL Mf''g Co. WATURBURY

Doesn't that put it between 1850-1865??? Or am I wrong.

Well if you got the date from the common button backmark page there are some errors on some of the dates. That button for sure is post war. That particular design is still in use now. Never the less a cool find. The funny thing is I find these in civil war camps in the middle of nowhere. But old camo military jackets have been popular with hunters and hippies for a long time and I guess while out camping, scouting, or hunting they drop a button now and then. Cant wait to see what else pops up at your spot. Good luck and keep on digg'in.

Thanks everyone. It really was an awesome day for me. Very Relaxing. Something that I needed that day. The indian didn't come out well. It had a case of cancer that couldn't be cured. The V nickel had a great face on it. I cleaned it up. The Shield was worn flat flat. I left it alone. I was afraid to clean it.

Nice Finds. The great seal button was first made in 1902 and is still in use. You do have a couple civil war relics though. The 3 ringer and the tent rope tensioner
