Civil War Button

Ok I almost tossed this out by accident from my finds bag. Was hunting with family and friends last week and found this within one foot of a droppped three ringer bullet. I ran it under some cold water and used a toothbrush to remove the dirt. It appears to have a shield with an eagle on top with a possible arrow. It also looks to have stars going around the inside with some wording but I cannot read what it is. It still has some goldish guild (if thats the proper word). I posted on the "What is it " forum and TNet member Aeromike said it looked like a New York Button. I checked it out on google and found a link saying it was a New York Line Officer two piece button but I did not find the back. Any other information would be appreciated.
