Well over the Thanksgiving Holiday we were in Kerrville. Vicky was on call at her hospital. We had a great time and stayed at the 1925 house that we usually stay in there. We had the traditional Thanksgiving dinner and did some detecting. This house has only given up 1 Indian, 1 Wheat, and now a big chunk of silver! I found this on the riverbank below the house. It was at 5 inches and boomed in with the DFX. I had been finding can slaw and thought that's what this would be, was I ever surprised! It was face up and the front has some stains, but the reverse is awesome.

Nice coin, I looked for nearly 30 years before I found my first Ben Franklin. Not sure why, I had found lots of Walkers and Barbers but no Bens.
I bet that made your headphones sing. Good job.

I've been TH'ing for over 30 years & I STILL have not yet found a Franklin half. However, I did find an 1825 Capped Bust half, a few Walking Libs & 1 Barber half dated 1919.

So far this year I found 3 clad Kennedy halves. Half dollars in general are hard to find from my experience.

FYI, my oldest coin I ever found is dated 1737 & my oldest silver is a Spanish reale dated 1787.

I only found 1 gold coin in my career & its a five dollar piece dated 1882. I bought a 14K bezzel & chain for it & I often wear it around my neck for good luck. Someone offered me $300.00 for the coin but I said "no way Jose!". I'll be buried with that coin.
