is it ivory ??? there is a couple ways to tell hold it up to your cheek if it is ivory it will be cold,heat a needle and touch it and grind your tooth on it and it will have grain.

Congrats on an awesome pipe bowl...I love finding the bowls. You maybe able to age the pipe by the bore hole in the pipe. If you have a set of drill bits just find the one that fits and that is the size of the bore.

I would say it is clay for sure and not bone....if you look at the top down view there is a seam that would not be on a bone pipe.
