Any Idea what this means ?

Was out exploring the other day and I found a bunch of old railroad spikes. The head of the spike has the letters "HC" in the middle and below that is a crooked "S"

I found these near the train tracks in West Fork, Arkansas. Definitely at least 50 years old.

Are these worth anything? Does anybody collect em?

Found this on the web.

There are two types of spikes, low carbon and high carbon. The high carbon ones are supposed to be marked with an "HC" on the head.

Didn't find anything about the "s".
