Found Bird Band

I found a bird band in the woods with part of the leg still in it! How do you identify by the number and who do you send it to? Is there any kind of reward or anything? Any how I thought it was a real cool find. Any help would be apppreciated. Thanks in advance. I can post what it says on it,if need be. It is real small and aluminum.

You need to post what is on it.

It could be a Pigeon Band or
a Wildlife Band.

I Don't think it's a Pigeon Band because it has US on it
But 69 Would more then Likely be the Date.

They are Most Likely Pigeon

Just found one myself, no bird no bone. This is the site for downloading band information. http://www.reportband.gov/. I was told you will receive a letter of appreciation.

You can order bird bands with any type of info on them. I raise parrots and have various sizes and colors of bands depending on what species. The US on yours is probably US fish and wildlife, 69 is the year and 2225 the #. L&M Bird Bands is where we get ours.

I think he got hungry and ate the leg, so we won't see any pictures

I have reported duck bands and got certificates telling where they were banded, age and so on......
