Re: Finally bailed on the nightmare site...WITH pics!
I don't mind getting dirty -- or climbing up hills -- or hard work -- but I think I would probably pass on that area -- the trees there just look to evil -- congrats on the rosy

Hey Jim....It looks alot like where I have been hunting.....But , if you found that canning crock you have to be close....I always think...where would be a good spot to build my house?? Is there any old trail or road going through there.....look to the trees...or shrubs etc that are not natural to the forest...is there anyway you could get any old maps of the area?Plat books? Sanbourn? It looks like too good of a spot to give up on.

Yep, those trees look vicious. Do you have an aerial view of the site? Sometimes they help, sometimes they don't...here's a couple of links (you probably already have them)...
Re: Finally bailed on the nightmare site...WITH pics!
I think I'll just wait for a forest fire or something.
Jim! I think your on to something, how about I drive over to Columbus one saturday and we will "ACCIDENTLY" start a fire (gotta make sure the ground is nice and dry) and you bring the weenies and marshmellows, I will bring the beer, we will be hunting by the following week!
Ok seriously, dont give up on it just take a break from it, might be some good stuff there! I am sure you have tried this but if not might be of some help, when I am looking for a place where there is no sign of it ever existing I will take old maps, (love maptech.com if it was there in early 1900's) compare them to something like nasa's satellite pictures and get the cordinates and go back with GPS. hope this helps, if not sure it might help someone!
