19th Century Coin Silver Spoon .....Unknown Hallmark!

I just returned from a week in Cape Cod. What a trip! Everthing was perfect, except I had no time to metal detect. I did manage approximately 7 minutes of detecting on the property of the house I was staying in. I dug only one signal, and it turned out to be a beauty! It appears to be a mid 19th century silver spoon, but I cannot identify the hallmark, which looks distinctly American to me. Hopefully there is a silver expert amongst the members here at TNet.

The next photo is an adult Humpback whale diving; one of about a dozen sighted on our whale watching tour during our stay. I drove by many sites during my stay with so much potential, but this was a family holiday. Maybe next year!

Those marks look more Roman to me. Could you have a Roman Silver Spoon ? Maybe, but I know Silverware Markings are hard. You basically need a degree in Silver Hallmarks to ID some of the 10's of thousands of Silverware markings.

We do know its silver, Awesome find !!

Keep @ it and HH !!

PS: I did some more research looks like Tifft Whiting from North Attleboro, MA USA See the bottom left column of this link. They used the Arm and Hammer mark your spoon has... So could be them!

Looks like a coin silver spoon to me. Not sure of the hallmarks though.

Hmmm I wonder if someone was born with that in their mouth?
