I got out today for a little bit and managed to pull this infantry button. :icon_sunny: I'm so glad I could make something out on this one. It seems like my id rate on pewters is about 1 in 15 due to their normal poor shape here. Is that about right for all of you also?

I can barely make out the oval under the script I unfortunately, but I'll take it anyway :)

The little raised dot piece of trade silver will have me dreaming of the piece it came from tonight :sleepy2: I don't think it was a simple brooch.....

Happy hunting

Those are really some Top Notch finds. Any trade silver would make my day--and that pewter "I" isn't in bad shape at all. I've seen much, much worse.

Cheers,

Thanks for the replies Buckles and Brian. I used some of your ideas on bringing out the high spots on this button, Buckles. Also the Elmers and water. I appreciate that info :icon_thumleft:

Happy Hunting
