1937-S Quarter, 1962-D Dime, 1916-S Wheat, & brass skeleton key!
Hi there!
I got out for a couple hours after work this evening. Decided to hit a spot that I've had my eye on for a while now. . . . . . never felt like the right moment to try it out, it's kinda a high traffic area, but today I felt it ~ so I went for it!
After a few minutes I had dug a couple clad dimes and a 1942 wheat cent ~ the area was a lot cleaner than I thought it would be ~ not a lot of targets to dig. I was on my second pass along the sidewalk edge and I got a nice sounding target. I dug down and came upon a 3 inch tree root right over the top of my target! So I had to dig around the big root. After getting around the root I had to feel around to try to locate the target . . . . . and that's when I felt the 'roundness'!! I got real excited because I could tell it was bigger than a dime or cent! It took me a few more minutes to get it out from under the root . . . . . out popped a 1937-S Washington quarter! WOOHOO!!!
Then just moments after finding the 1937 quarter, a detecting friend of mine, Noah, pulled up by me! He was on his way home from work and he seen me there sitting on the side walk digging a target! SO he went home real fast and grabbed his detector to join me!
I only dug a few more targets before the sun went down ~ a 1962-D Rosie Dime, 1916-S Wheat cent, an old brass key, and a few more modern coins.
I took pic's of the silver coins before and after I cleaned 'em up. These are my silver coin finds #136 & #137 for the year.
THANKS for looking!
Neil
