Went back to the site that produced all the buckles last week...I was going to venture out away from the cellar, but i just couldnt stay away from the site...I found the buckle first, thought it a match to last weeks buckle...But it seems a bit different...Then i started hunting the bramble behind the foundation...I got a nice hit on the excal and out popped a 1 reale 1731 pistareen...I was extremly happy to say the least...The daylight ended quickly and we were done for the day...Then on saturday night we did our usual research for a new site...We searched maps and google earth and located a new spot...Headed out to the spot on sunday....Found the site very quickly, it can be tricky sometimes...Right away i said to Fog, This site is old!!! I located the well and went to work..Very first dig was a copper coin, I ended up with 4 coppers and one of my favorite finds to date..1600's era Buckle...It has sweet patina on it...I am truly amazed at work that had to into buckle..It is a work of art in my opinion...I was shaking when it poped out of the dirt for like 5 minutes...If you look at the back of the buckle you can see the file marks when it was made. It is Incredible IMHO.

Those are a couple of good finds for sure! And definitely an old buckle!

Very similar to mine which I can tell you dates pre 1760. (Probably 1720-1750)

Honestly Patch...is it all about you?
I'm starting to believe you are the only person on this site that has found one of everything.
Your head is gonna pop soon. :smileinbox:

Love that buckle, that would be a top find for the year in my relic collection for sure!! the 1731 Pistareen is a very nice one, seems like several of the pistareens are found in great shape, like they had a magic about them, meaning they were lost early in their circulation life, which is great for people like us! The other buckles not too shabby, but hmmmn, wish the coppers came out of your soil in a tad better shape, but what is is. :(
