Howdy Folks!
I haven't been on T-net much recently, and I figure I'll spend more time around here going forward.

Since my last real visit, I managed to wreck my knee at work and will be having surgery to fix that on December 31st. I was supposed to have the operation back at the end of August, but ended up with a blood clot in that leg, so ended up having to wait for blood thinners to dissolve the darn thing. Anyhow, I got clearance to go for knee repair and have a date lined up for meniscus repair. Both of them are messed up.

Last saturday night, I managed to bang my chest on an obstruction while hunting and now have that issue to cope with as well as a bad knee. So hunting has been tough because it hurts a whole bunch! But not enough to keep me hanging around the house complaining. I went hunting.

It was a nice day with a high in the 40s and sunny so I set out with my MXT Pro to see what I might find. Every bend to check a target was excruciatingly painful, but I wasn't going to be denied. So I just gritted my teeth and hunted. They say "no pain, no gain!" So I guess I put that theory to the test.

I only hit two locations, and at the first I found several items including a post earring that I thought might be gold. Turns out it is. I tested it at home to learn it is 18k gold. That first location is where I also found a 925 silver bracelet. After driving around to do some recon work, I found a place I've been looking for. That's where I found an 18k gold ring. It was near the bottom end of a slide on a wood chip tot lot. Because I've been burned before, I tested the ring and it is a legitimate 18k weighing 6.8 grams. I also tested the post earring.

Better yet, I guess I'll let my photos tell the rest of the story!

Thanks for Lookin,
Blessings,
M-Taliesin

Howdy Dave!
Thanks for the feedback on the value of that ring I found. Hey, that's not bad for a short (3 hour) hunt.

As for sitting back and resting, you know that ain't gonna happen! There is more gold and silver out there and it is calling my name. It would be downright negligent to leave it lay. Soon as the temperature climbs above freezing, I'm out there hunting again. The ribs are improving (slowly) but I should have an easier time of bending down to fetch up targets.

Blessings of the Season to you and your family!

Howdy Pard!
Only if the hunting is good and gold abundant. Sure, I'll take silver too, but my real goal is gold!

Blessings,

Sounds like you've got the gold fever now! :laughing7: I hear ya partner, the second I find something of value I have to remind myself that I've a family to go home to and I better shut it down soon! Of course we have 2 feet of snow here, so my wife knows there's no risk of me leaving the house to go hunting.

Congrats again on your gold strike and thanks very much for the well wishes.

All the best to you and your family.

Dave
