i think its a Edward 2nd penny

Edward II of England VILL/SCIE/DMV/NDI Bury St Edmunds - hard mint to get, not sure why EDWARD is missing its 'D'

Looks to be a European Sterling Immitation which circulated at the same time as the Edwards. The EW (without the 'D') is the first clue, the reverse mint makes little sense as well.

My mistake, I just edited. Can't work out why it was not spelt properly. Immitations (produced by French Dukes for example) circulated with our coins they just had less silver & if spotted were worth less than a Penny.
