Beautiful tiny medieval coin!! UPDATE!! circa 1560´s

EVEN THOUGH IT WAS RAINING, I WENT OUT... :o NOT THE BEST IDEA :tongue3:
I COULD NOT LIFT MY FEET BECAUSE I HAD THE BIGGEST CLUMPS OF MUD IN MY BOOTS!!!
I GOT ABOUT 20 MINUTES AND I LEFT...
I FOUND A BEAUTIFUL TINY MEDIEVAL COIN - its a BLANCA FROM PHILLIP II OF SPAIN MINTED BETWEEN 1556 AND 1598!!! :read2:
AND A MEDIEVAL MOUNT!!

We normally manage about 3.5-4 hours in those conditions but it feels like your legs are being pulled off at the knee :laughing9: Sometimes the spade is useless & we just use our hands :wink:
Also you sleep well that night :tongue3:

Still at least you got a couple of good finds :headbang:

Well it was my first time in that kin of mud...next time I will persevere... :laughing7: :laughing7:
We are a little bit more lucky with the weather in this part of the world...I hope it dries a bit for thursday, I'm planing a long day of hunting if possible...

It was yesterday but didn't do so well. Not going until the weekend but we have no options yet!

Interesting little coin :o look forward to the ID :) Have had some good days in those type of conditions :-\ for me the worst part is the amount of mud, that sticks to the bottom of the search head :-\ does'nt half way the bugger down :laughing9:

ITS A "BLANCA" FROM THE KING PHILLIP II, IT WAS MINTED IN BETWEEN THE 1556 AND 1598

I have found the mint marks, i think its from the Toledo Mint
two "Blancas" would ad to be a 1 Maravedi

Yeah, looks like the blanca. I think I found one of those on the beach opposite a historic wreck site. Only thing still on it was some of the border ticking and a little design. I was pretty lucky.

It has been raining, but it stops tomorrow. I already have planned a full day on thursday...maybe ::)

this is my second blanca, the first one its better preserved than this one, but different patina, its brown. Also diferent mint...
