I met up with NoNickels (Marty) today for a hunt.... first we started off at an old lot where a 1800's home stood. It was fairly trashy like all other tear downs, so we just slowly went around digging all decent signals. First coin for me was the 1897 indian, right beside that I dug the bell, I almost gave up on it, as it was about a foot deep. I also got the lead soldier there as well as the silver rosie. Marty got him a beautiful LC, and some wheats.

We headed to another empty farm house lot after knocking and getting permission, Marty nabbed him a barber dime, and I got an AMAZING semi key date indian.....1878.....this is one of the nicest indians I have dug and a GOOD date as well. :hello2: :laughing7:

Anyone care to grade this one for me? :icon_scratch:

Then one last stop he hit the empty lot where I dug the 2 center coin earlier this week, I went across the small yard in a different direction, got 2 wheats, the black lady costume jewelry (has a pin on the back) and the sash buckle.

Overall a super day for both of us! That takes me to 11 indians for the season!

here is the video from today :tongue3:

Goes4Ever--I think the black lady pin is referred to as a 'blackamoor(s)'. Here's a link about it on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackamoors_(decorative_arts) . And it looks like there are quite a few of those type of pins(costume jewelry) on eBay and they seem to be selling good.
Very nice finds! :icon_thumright:

I imagine the penny should come in at or near EF. I don't recall seeing the back. You can read clearly the 'LIBERTY' which puts it right up there. You've had some nice finds the last few days. Seems like you've hit the spot...no more sidewalks, for now!
