Have been busy last days, went back to my field, and tried a different one...got really lucky!!
I found a very nice crucifix, gold plated from the medieval times.
One fibula, not sure when is it from.
One thimble.
Some medieval coins

It was lots of fun, I found the biggest coin just laying on top of the ground, look at the picture, from the 1500's, just mind boggling...

Thanks for looking

Great finds Nutria :icon_thumleft:, I love it when the coin is on the surface, it's only happened to me about 3 times so far. How about a couple of close up pics of the finds :icon_thumleft:.

Silver:

I don't know, it doesn't look like a harp, it has a hole on the end, and the legs are not broken.
I think its some kind of buckle or suspender hanger... I think Hispan will know, but it did not look very old, thats why I didn't include close up pics.

What do you think its the item next to the thimble. Some people say its roman, others say its medieval...I dont know

Thanks a million for looking and helping.

When its your next hunt? Im anxious... :P

Hi Nutria...Good selection of coins and findings!
Many of the finds that we find are completely unknown ... only the former owners who used them know what they served ... :dontknow:
The thimble is medieval because it has the semi spherical tip . The crucifix of 16th century and is a Italian Crucifix.
Greetings!

Nutria, nice finds....the piece that Silver is talking about in the top left corner is not a Jews harp....a jews harp is a musical instrument used more by country or bluegrass bands in the states, the legs are longer and usually has a vibrating piece of metal that is strummed while playing....I'm sorry but I don't know where to find a picture of it....goat

Thanks a lot Hispan.
Do you know what the piece under the thimble is? This is my second one, looks like the same kind of thing I found like the fibulas you told me. I will post the pics of the other one in a couple of days.
Thanks for the ID on the crucifix, how do you know its italian?

Gracias

It looks like a broken one that's what i meant...not a complete one, and there is one in the link i provided, jews harps date back to the 17 hundreds.

More great Finds! Awesome Crucifix :o
The upper left piece does resemble a jews harp, attachment for the iron center looks visible, this site says used since ancient times, use the play button to sample the sounds it created.
Congrats on all the ancient pieces!
