My First Civil War Bullet Wooooo Hooooo!!!

Thanks to Felinepeachy, I got to hunt Kentucky and actually found something the first day. We hunted across from a Confederate fort on the Barren River and I found this civil war bullet. Anyone know what kind it is?
It weighs 31.4 grams.

Hard to tell what kind of bullet it is, but it definitely was not dropped. You can see the rifling groves on the side of the bullet which means it was fired. Also, the little dome at the top of the bullet was made by the soldiers ramrod pushing the bullet down the barrel. Great find.

Congrats on your first CW bullet! I love digging bullets!! What a rush!!

Nice chunk of lead ya found. :thumbsup:

My knowledge on those bullets is limited, I'm better with the more modern types. But, 31.4 grams is about right for the .58 3 ring Minie, of which it looks to me. :)

Perhaps someone with more knowledge on these can back up or refute my suggestion.
