PBK...these were in the BACK yard beside a big oak tree...The spur was about 4 inches in the dirt....still has part of the wheely thing...its rusty though...AP that's a WISHY BONE...dont you watch Gunsmoke? :D :D

If you can find a copy, there's a neat little book by Howard R. Crouch, Historic American Spurs.

hey them darn yankees are listening.....I know I couldnt think of the word...got books I wore out over the years looking at this kinda stuff...

Nice finds, Michelle. 8) The oval piece is, I believe, a lock for a barrel on a muzzle loader. It would have a flat brass pin or key that holds the barrel on a rifle stock.
