Just got my pointer/probe back for my Detector Pro headset and went out for a little hunting today. Got permission for an empty lot that was the site of a store building in use from 1880 till around 1970. Dug some alum trash and memorials, even a few zincs...still getting used to the Etrac.
Found this 50 cent copper/bronze script token with a store owner's name, "W.D. Johnson" pat'd 1919, issued by the "Insurance Credit System, Dayton O". After a bit a research, some of which came from right here on T'net, I have concluded it may be coal mining related. The Ins Credit co was changed to ORCO in 1924. Mackaydon, you got anything on this one? Portsmouth, OH is only 35 miles away.
The sterling butter was from a hunt last week, only silver in the 1920's yard, (so far).
The brass/copper latch or buckle is also last week's, but it's use unknown to me.
The Booker half was a purchase and pictured for size ref.
