I went for a short hunt after work today( only about 20 mins fighting the rain). This is the same site that i found the silver chappe, and the 2 sous. Today i found this Token / Medal /Jeton. I'm not really sure what it is yet. The only thing i've found online is from the Portable Antiquities Scheme http://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts/record/id/74306 But they say its post Medieval between 1600- 1900 .
i think it is 1700's , any id's would be great.

Re: French Medal / Jeton

It's a coin, a French Liard. (Minted in Tours Circa. 1655-1658)

You have some great early sites. If you can keep finding places like that there will be a lot more keepers to come.

It's crazy...were finding the same types of finds...gotta love those Colonizing French!

Nice Liard!!! :headbang:

Congrats on your 1650's coin. I too have found one here in the US in New Hampshire.
Now you're part of the 1600's club.

Enjoy

I've probably found about 20 of them. But only two or three I would consider worthy condition.
