Okay so I took my new At Pro out for the second time to my girlfriends house outside Richmond VA. She lives in a house built in 1942, and was the main house of a huge farm that covered many acres but the land is now all built up. There is a huge tree in the front yard (4ft across easy) I have been eyeing for a long time and I wanted to swing a MD by it and today I got my chance. I don't remember what the ID was but it was showing about 8 inches down. I was in Pro Mode and GB at about 62. and sensitivity up at 8 bars. I was about 4 ft away from the base of the tree and bam got a loud tone that was consistent. I started digging and at first couldn't find it with my probe and then it popped out and I thought boy this is a heavy quarter, then I started to rub the dirt away and I saw the date 1839 and I was so excited I think I let out a "Woo-Hoo"..lol

I also found today:

1936 Silver quarter that was 6 inches down and unbelievably shiney.
1969 Clad Quarter
1964 Nickle
1975 Nickle
1945 Penny
1951 Penny
1953D Penny
1964 Penny, 2ea
1996 Dog License
A Nationwide Insurance Coin that said "Award of Merit"
1839 Large One Cent Coronet...Have no idea what version it is.

Here is a pic of the 1839:

wow awesome find, in good condition too. I'd be hitting that spot hard, must have been something there before the current house.

and are you sure that isn't 1829? looks like a 2 to me.

Congrats
