This is my first Walking Liberty Half Dollar. I found it looking for gold, you can tell by the trash I dug. The sound it gave was similar to a large gold ring.

I uncovered it at 7”, it was under 1 ½ pull tabs.

The first thing to come out of the hole at 4” was a beavertail without the finger ring part. Then at 5” a complete pull tap came out. I check the hole again and it was still screaming. After digging about 2 more inches the old lady showed herself, I was jazzed to say the least.

I found a few other cool things yesterday but I'm to tired to post them right now. got to be up bright and early, 5:00AM. The blue dot on the picture is where I found the WLH and the blue box shows the pull tabs that came from the same hole. Hopefully the scuff marks will come off when I clean it up, that ground is very hard to dig in at this time of year.

So what abandond military base is that? ;)

Thanks everyone.

Hi PhotoTJ, I don't think I should mention that because I plan hunting it for as long as I can ;). I have a Military Sticker on my vehicle and I have a Military ID card so I might have a foot up on those that don't. Plus, I've been working for the Uncle Sam for almost 30 Years and I've met a lot of folks in that time, I have a fairly good network of connections ;D.

P.S.
PhotoTJ, I see your from SoCal too. We might be able to flip flop a hunting spot or two, let me know via the PM system.

Chow and happy hunting.

Congrats ant,

That's a nice one. Anything that large is gonna come through over the garbage.

cool find
whats the other big coin next to it

I already have a coin just like it, the one at the botton right in the picture. It's an obsolete 20 pesos coin. Mexico had a monetary reform back in the 90's and now most of the coins in the picture are no good, the two toned coins in the picture are still good. These Mexican coins came from nearly two years of hunting.
