Hit up an area where I noticed on an old map that once had railroad tracks.
Nothing to interesting accept a railroad nail.
Moved to a heavily used park and dug up an old part of something. Any Ideas? It's heavily rusted and looks like its got a bunch of blades on the bottom. Reminds me of the bottom side of a mushroom.
Fed up with the junk I hit my my gramma's house and came up with some coins, a part of an old lock, and and old rose tin.
Oh well, its good practice.

For sure it's good practice and you ended up with coins! Possibly that same map or another old local map will show where the railroad station used to be. If so, might be lots of interesting and possibly valuable items and coins underground around that old station. Sometimes the stations were razed down to the ground when no longer in use, so maybe the old station area is now just an empty lot; other times old stations were converted into museums, etc. Have fun! If you can compare/overlay that old map, the tracks are an excellent reference pinpoint to locate structures that are no longer standing.
keep on researching and diggin
