It was a beautiful day today, so Zeus and I got out for a Colonial dig. We hunted the site where our group has found 13 Colonial coppers this Fall. We were determined to add more to that total.
I was getting all sorts of new signals in areas that we have hunted. I found the beautiful silver-plated flower button at a depth of 6". After that, I dug some other relics and was picking pottery up along the way. The best, strong signal of the day was pinpointing at 5". I was glad to see a green copper pop out of the depths. It turned out to be a 1787 Connecticut copper. I now have found 3 State coppers at this site this Fall (NJ, VT, and CT ).
I had a great time hunting a true Colonial site with my uncle Zeus. He found a large tombac button and harness buckles out the ying-yang. What a site! Bucket Bonanza!
Keep the passion high!
