Nice button. First one I've ever seen with that particular design. :icon_thumright:

Fairly common design with many variations, here is a similar one I found last year:

What size is the shooter coil? is that like a sniper coil? I have been considering getting one for a few otherwise un-huntable sites due to trash.

I was mistaken. It is the Eclipse 5.3 (which is actually closer to 6"). They also make a 6"x4" shooter which is better for getting in the really tight spots.

It was a busy weekend but I did manage to sneak out for an hour. I went into the thick brush with my "shooter" coil and was able to find a few buttons including the convex, one piece navy button. I have not been able to get a positive ID with the backmark...No. 4 FINE GILT.

Not my best button, but still a nice find in my book.
Nice War of 1812 Navy Button!! I have dug A lot of them around York Town Virginia. It is in the Alberts Button, book but I do not know what page? I can not find my book at the moment.

I took another look, and although there are similar buttons, none match exactly. The eagle's left wing does not go as high as most in the Albert's book. It may just be that because it is cuff sized the design was altered. Also none listed with the exact BM.

That's a nice button Neil. This portion of Virginia was pretty active during the War of 1812 and I've found several different variants of this button and never get tired of it as it's one of my favorite designs, Congratulations buddy :occasion14:
