Cmdiamondawg. The medal looks almost identical. Does yours say "souvenir firemans convention" is there a date or any other texts? Thanks for the post.

I'm jealous! I never found anything that sweet when I lived up there.

How long did it take to clean up the dog after you dug it? 8)

Great finds!! Its rare to see such great artifacts come from the NW. Do you have any idea how long the camp was occupied? The privy's should have some great finds in them as well. Check your PM inbox. Its great to see you here. Tad

Thats really neat. I like seeing old history like that. You could almost hear the stories being told by those loggers while eating grub in the evening around a fire.

Tad-
the camp from what I could gather operated a couple years starting in 1910...I have been researching privy probes, but have yet to buy one, any recommendations would be appreciated.

Re: 100 year old Washington state logging camp finds

I live/treasure hunt in South Korea. But, my home is in N.E. Oregon, over the hill from Walla Walla.
My dad was on a two-man crosscut team back in the 30's, up the Grand Rhonde River, out of LaGrande.
Should be some stuff up there too. (Mom was with him, and there was a cooks tent that provided the
food. I would imagine that finding that site would be a hunt like what you had.)
Great post. Love the northwest.
