I was hunting in Pender County with CSCHipper1 today. It was a day of slogging in a field that had been worked hard last week.I did get this arrowhead (Yadkin or Uwharrie?). It was sitting right on top of the sandy soil with blinking neon lights around it....Okay, maybe not but it was screaming at me to pick it up. It is about 2 inches long and just over 1/2 inch in width.

I also got this mystery bullet. It is .46 in diameter and 1.25 inches in length. I think the bullet is a 45 Cal. It was about 10 inches down in the field I was hunting. Anyone got any idea on it?

Thanks! PB

Neat arrowhead  I have no idea what the bullet is.

Thanks! I did a little research and decided that it is from the Uwharrie period which puts it around 1600 AD.

The arrow head looks like a "Yadkin" type point and the bullet could be from a .45-70...d2

I am leaning towards Uwharrie

And thanks for the info on the bullet. I would consider it overkill for the dog sized deer that I see in this state ;)

Yep, 45/70 carbine bullet. Post civil war/late Indian wars. Same type they find at the Battle of Little Bighorn! Love to find those :icon_thumright:

Well, it was found at an old Confederate camp area. I wonder if it was occupied during the Norths occupation after 1865? Thanks!!
