Slim Pickings but Happy with this Hunt!
I was able to get out for a couple hours on Saturday but there was a definite lack of good sites to be detected. Either the grass was too long or there were crops being planted. To add to it I couldn’t even hunt the shorelines because the tides were high. I did find one old favorite site that is a farmed field but had not yet been planted. I spent a couple hours in the heavy iron and managed a few targets including a couple tombac buttons and a French bale seal. The bale seal was a welcome find as for some reason I don’t find many of these. This is only the second one that I’ve found in this province and only the third one total. I’ve got a couple European seals but the French Acadian seals are much preferred. Unfortunately it is only the center portion but I’m still happy. Also managed a crusty George II and a couple iron bits. Not quite sure what the iron hook thing is. Looks like it was made to be mounted on a wooden handle but I have no idea.

That's one that's on my list, I've only managed a couple of more modern lead seals. Pretty cool digs as always!

I haven't found many seals either, and think it strange, assuming they were "garbage" at the time, like a candy wrapper is today ?
Yes I'd be happy with a french one too.

Nice hunt.
That iron hook is what we call the modern day 'pickaroo', no kidding.
It was used to stab into a log and drag it, lots of other uses for it too I imagine.

I hear you on the lack of sites this time of year,
crops ticks or tides...
got some good lows coming in a couple weeks,
Very nice seal, Ive gotten two stamped AR that pique my interest,
(both the patina and the script say OLD)
any tips on how to get info on bale seals?
Best wishes and HH! Herbie
