Congrats to you!! I'm also only a little over a month into the hobby, and swing an ACE 350 as well. Out of curiosity, what notch/overall-area did the ring register?
As an enthusiastic digger, I have dug nearly EVERY target from nickle & above. I know gold "generically" is suppose to register in the $.05/beaver tail range, but from personal air tests and watching some YouTube vids, I know that's not ALWAYS the case.
Just an FYI,...when I say I dig nearly EVERY target, I started keeping tabs(no pun intended) on all the "targets" I dig that register in the TAB segment about a week after I got my detector (April 7th). ONE-HUNDRED-NINETY-ONE beaver tails/junk finds as of Saturday,......no gold and/or quality finds!!
Congrats & HH!!
