Just recently moved to england, i have been working on a house since being here and have not had a chance to bust out my at pro yet. Last night in the rain i decided to show my friend how the machine works so went into the small front yard. First signal i got read out in the high 70s on the tid. So i dug it and out popped a 1903 edward the vii large penny. Not of great value or anything but id say a great start to my dectecting in england! Hopefull many more to come

Do you mean Barrow-in-Furness?

First thing to do is download google earth, study the different timelines, normally about 5 for each area.

Might be worth checking if there is a club in the local area.

Generally parkland is protected by bylaws, so stick with farmland that has been ploughed or pasture that was once ploughed.

I can give plenty of advice on Treasure Law & how to approach farmers & get permission, if needed.
