I finally snagged a Mercury Dime. It looks to be a 1943 S.
I found it near a stump of an old tree in front of a church Est. 1885.
It seems to have pretty crisp detail front and back.
Plus I didn't scratch it! I havn't looked it up yet but, thought I'd share....

I'm one up on you Robert H! ;) ;

Nice first mercury find. I just looked it up in my 2007 United States Coin book and it rates out at around $2. If you want to clean it up real nice and put it in a folder, I suggest you use Connoisseurs Jewelry Wipes. You can buy them at Wall-Mart, K Mart or just about anywhere. They really clean a coin up nicely. They are also great for those gold and silver rings your going to find or have found. I only use these on coins that are of little value. The expensive coins, I let an expert take care of them. There are 25 wipes in the container.

Good Luck and Thanks for the Post, Ringfinder
