Went out for a couple hours after work. Found ring 16 of 2013.
I haven't found a ring at this park in about a year but I keep looking.
I was going along doing what I do. Then I get a hit. I can see it's a fresh hole from someone else. I'm assuming they left the item in the hole. So I dug it up. Sure enough there's a pulltab. I have a friend who does that despite me telling him it's bad karma. I bet it was him.
Then about 4 feet away I heard a faint lowww signal. I'm thinking to myself, "you missed one". Dug it up at about 4 inches. BINGO!
Thanks for leaving the pulltab in the hole! Without that I may have missed it. I can't wait to tell him about it. =)
Oh yeah, it's 14k but the stones aren't real.

That's a really different looking ring. Neat find though. So far my rings have all been plated with fake stones, still looking for my first gold, and I've packed a ton of pull tabs home. Is that screwing up an archeology dig a thousand years from now? The coins will be all rotted away and that's all they will have to find.

Lol, funny stuff BosnMate! In the future they'll dig up gold rings and say, look at this worthless piece of junk.
My kid makes these with his handy dandy home alchemy kit.

Just keep looking. You're definitely on the right path. At least you're digging up the tabs. I spent years skipping those thinking how good I was. Now I'm digging up stuff other people thought was junk.
