Saturday Got out with T-Hiltzy today we made a long road trip to some cellar holes on private land that he got us permission to hunt. 1st site had cement on stone foundation, was trashy but squeeked out the CT civil war coat button.next 2 sites were nailed pretty hard and we moved to 4th site, that's where the targets were! a shoe buckle,a rev war one piece naval cuff button in a low wet area.it's pretty toasted but you can see the anchor still somewhat,a WWI or II great seal button with a SUE ART MFG CO back mark.3 coppers a 1851? braided hair,a counterfiet KG II? rang up 42 on my VDI and a completely wasted copper no clue what it is,a bell and the broken shoe buckle frame was from a previous hunt.

Sunday Me & Todd (thiltzy)Finally got up to meet Johnny BLaze & do a hunt with him.was a gorgeous day and Johnny wanted to go looking for an elusive cellar hole off the beaten path.was a tough one to find but when it came into view my jaw dropped
smiley-shocked004.gif

huge standing chimney and just a gorgeous site.but targets were slim and we made the best of the opportunity.Todd got a matron head LC and some buttons,I got a decent 1865 IH a few buttons and dumb question,it's probably some suspender hook but any chance it's a sword hanger?

thanks for the invite JB!

Man, looks like you had a great day. I would say that spot is worth another day of hunting. Some really nice finds there for sure.

That is a well built chimney :laughing7:
Nice group of recoveries from a wide date range.
Very Pretty first year small copper. (bronze:tongue3:)
Fake GIIs are rampant up here, I had mine XRFed and 7 out of 12 were CFT,
Can't confirm the hanger, will be watching though cause I have some..
Congrats and HH !

Nice finds, I always think those cellar holes look like fun to hunt, unfortunately the water table is too high in my area so there are no cellars.

Great assortment of early finds by you guys. BTW - that one item is definitely a CW-era knapsack hook.
