Old One Room School House 26 Apr 2013 (2 SILVER) Pennsylvania Part II
This is the second day of hunting I was able to do while up visiting in Pa. (Part I: http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/today-s-finds/351545-old-colonial-road-inn-25-26-apr-2013-pennsylvania-part-1-a.html#post3341704)
This location is a house my brother lives in that was once a one room school house dating back to the late 1800's early 1900's.
Actually started the hunt the night before when I went over for a beer. Pulled out the Minelab Sovereign GT to show it to him and do a quick spin in the fading light. Hit a strange mixed sound and pulled out one of these:
When I returned the next day I found the rest of them. There were 14 pieces all total, made of brass and pretty lightweight. Best guess is they are all part of a bracelet that disintegrated in the dirt and left these behind. Each piece has two holes on each side where the string or wire went through them.
The next target was a beautiful 1934 SILVER Quarter right next to the driveway.
Moved on to a large old tree in the front part of the yard (figured it was a place the school children may have played or hung out around...) and scored two very nice targets:
A 1935 Buffalo Nickle. #2 for me so far. Just found one on the beach 2 weeks ago that is not in as good a shape as this one.
And a nice locket as well! Nothing but dirt inside unfortunately but still a cool find. Believe it is made of brass/copper and may have been plated at one time.
A little further on I found this:
Old mangled, plated spoon.
Saving the best for last......found this little baby smack dab in the middle of the yard all by itself (welll....ok there was some aluminum trash around as well but it was all over the place. Whoever sided the garage years ago must have thought it was a good idea to toss all the small aluminum scraps around the yard!) Have to call this my coolest find to date:
1891 SILVER Seated Liberty Dime! First for me and my oldest coin so far!

I plan on going back here again as well but the REAL search would be the excavation of the old privy which is still standing and open, not filled in!
You can see all the newer broken bottles on top and I imagine there is much better crap (pun intended) below that! May have to come up with a plan on how to attack that one! Any suggestions would be helpful as I've seen plenty of posts and videos here but never undertaken one myself. Could be a helluva a project! Thanks again for looking!
