Well, Today we drove out to a small town with a older school to detect. We get all the way out there (30 Miles) and rule #6 on the sign says NO Metal Detecting >:( So, on the way back home we hit a older park in Portland and then a newer (1960's) elementry school. I figured today would be a clad hunt, if anything. Well, I got 2 firsts today at the 1960's school (Just goes to show, you never know).

I found a match to my 1925 Wheatie I found 2 weeks ago, only this one is a 1925-S. I also got my first Buffalo nickel, 19??-D and a 1981 Peru "50 Soles De Oro". If anyone can provide me any information or pricing on the Peru coin, it would be great! I also got a 1957 nickel, I thought that was neat ;D

Now for the pictures.....

Sorry, no info on the coin, but those are some great finds, WTG!!!
Too bad about the "NO Detecting" sign, I definitely don't want to hear to much about any of those...
Good luck, & Happy hunting~

Nice finds though.

Do you have a link to that auction? I can only find paper currency, no coins. There is an 1980 error, but thats all I could find.

Well, I do not suggest doing this to coins worth $$$, but this was a no date buffalo that looked like it could use a bath. 30 minute run in the tumbler with the other clad and......

Hey Stormy, I tried to look up the exchange but your coin was discontinued in 1985.

This site is good for current foreign exchange.

I also looked it up on ebay. The only modern coins for sale are irregulars. So I'm guessing it isn't much of a collector's item. Sorry.

Still a very cool find and worth hanging onto! Love the buffalo too! Ah squeaky clean! LOL

WTG Storm. Too bad about the older school you couldn't detect. That coin sure cleaned up nice.

Did you use a specific formula in the tumbler?
