Got out this morning and hunted a couple of older school fields . Not much to talk about but did find a plated locket with a note inside :icon_thumright: Looks to be from the Middle East , anyone know anything about it ? Also found a 1941D wheat cent , 2 junk rings and a very tiny 925 silver charm  . The marble was about 6 inches deep with a 1960 Memorial penny . Total clad for two hours was $13.14 !

I have a detecting sickness :laughing7: The only secret is when I have time or I'm out of work like now I go hunting ! The more you hunt the more you find ! Now in 5 years when I'm 50 years old I'm not sure I'll be hunting the same way :laughing7:

I have a friend who is an Islamic languages instructor at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, and he says that it's a modern form of an ancient curse, something to the effect of "whomever dares to disturb the sanctity of this holy locket is doomed to suffer an eternity of finding nothing but toasted clad", or something like that...

Fascinating finds!

Just curious, how many targets do you figure you dug in those two hours?

Glen, you are a machine. A few hundred targets in two hours? No wonder my hunts fall short. Are you digging everything? Iron included? Turning school yards into swiss cheese? I don't think I have even found 50 diggable targets in a two hour hunt. Anyway, I hope you can still dig that many holes when your are my age. (in 6 years from now).

Love the locket, curse or no curse.

I dig almost all targets that are solid and sound sharp . Anything from +8 to +94 VDI on the MXT PRO . Years ago I was more picky in my targets but since I have change over the years I have found more gold and small silver , dig it all I say unless it's cursed . Oh crap :laughing7:
