............ took a "Chance" & detected an old property ( borders the Railroad Depot ) in Hattiesburg this past evening and dug these up ( along with 1 Indian & 5 Wheats )

Was VERY Lucky for several reasons !!

(1) obviously for what we came home with ;)
(2) property I had been chased off of during a previous daylight hunt :-X
(3) was drawing a LOT of attention from the crack dealers & such in the area. >:(
(4) Good thing I brought along a couple of friends to hold the flashlights & do the digging for me. Between the 3 of us, we averaged 6'2", 340 pounds EACH. My buds were impressed with what we found, but have NO intentions of going back there at night anytime soon !! ( at least not without a Police escort ) ;D

Will have clean up the Half a little better I guess. Didn't put much effort into it because it is already well-worn.
Appears like it could have been someone's pocket-piece from long ago.

Very nice finds!

Q - why were you chased off during daylight? Didn't you have permission to hunt?

"Had" permission from previous owner, but I guess the bank that took the property over did not want anybody there.

Yeah, I took the risk but will sleep just fine tonight regardless. ;)

I doubt the local Police Dept will escort someone who is trespassing ::) Well, maybe down to the booking room for your quick photos, prints, LEDS & NCIC Checks ;D ;D ;D

I know, I know...I'm such a stickler :-X

Great coins. I sent you a PM about places to hunt down in the swamp off the Leaf River.

Hattiesburg has a very old history and Victorians are everywhere. Man, I would be packing if I was hunting near the BonTon, let lone hunting near the High Hat too.
